美军方：中国军力主要针对美国
美国参谋长联席会议主席马伦日前表示，中国军力的增长，主要是针对美国。对此，两岸的军事专家认为，针对奥巴马政府削减军事预算的计划，出现了反对的声音，此外，美国可能加强在西太平洋的军事部署。
中国军事评论人士宋小军认为，马伦的这番谈话，主要是希望奥巴马政府，不要出现削减军事预算的情形。
他说：“因为前些日子，奥巴马有个建议，有关2010 年，军火采购的费用要砍一些，当然，他(马伦)就说，现在威胁很大，不能砍。”
台湾亚太防务杂志总编郑继文认为，中国军事力量的增长，很可能会促使美国加强在西太平洋的军事部署。
郑继文说：“美国这几年，有关中国威胁论的话题相当多，包括不断的强调解放军
潜舰的威胁，比如汉级潜舰跑到关岛，突破第一岛链，还有是不是要发展航母，相关的议题很多。”
澳大利亚的国防白皮书还指出，中国应该更公开的说明军事扩张的情形，否则对于台湾以外的周边国家也会造成威胁。
佩雷斯说以继续支持两国方案
以色列总统佩雷斯说，以色列总理内塔尼亚胡的政府将与上届政府一样，支持以两个国家的方式作为以-巴冲突的解决办法。佩雷斯星期二在华盛顿会见了美国总统奥巴马。白宫发表了一份书面声明说，两位总统就中东和平进程和伊朗的核项目问题交换了意见。

贝南克预计2010年GDP将增长2%，2011年增长4%

Economic Crisis Raises Fears Extremism in Western Countries
A solid majority of people in the major Western democracies expect a rise in political extremism in their countries as a result of the economic crisis, according to a new poll.
In the United States and Italy, 53 percent of those surveyed say more extremism is “certain to happen” or “probable” in the next three years. The number rises to 65 percent in Britain and Germany, with about 60 percent expressing that view in France and Spain.
Blair: Quartet to present new strategy for peace negotiations
The US-led Quartet of Middle East mediators is working on a new strategy for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and is expected to present it in five to six weeks. The plan is being devised by the Obama administration, with input from others. "I think that within the next five to six weeks, you will have a very clear picture of what the plan is." Blair said.
The London-based pan-Arab daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported Wednesday that Arab leaders were formulating a new peace offer, more detailed than the original Arab Initiative, which will include a proposal for resolving the two thorniest final-status issues in peace talks, Jerusalem and the refugee problem. According to the report, which relied on Palestinian sources, the new initiative is being led by Jordan's King Abdullah II at Obama's behest.
The offer will reportedly call for the establishment of a demilitarized Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the Old City designated an "international zone."
Some of the descendants of Palestinian refugees from Israel's War of Independence in 1948 will reportedly be allowed a Right of Return to the Palestinian state, while others will be naturalized in their countries of residence throughout the Arab world.
Iran to construct road links to Iraq
Iranian contractors are slated to partner with Iraqi companies to construct new roads linking different Iraqi and Iranian cities.
According to an accord signed between the two countries, Iranian contractors will collaborate with their Iraqi counterparts in building roads between Iraqi and Iranian cities of Al Amara, Sheib, Mehran Kut, Haaj Emran, Bashmaq and Seyyed Sadeq.
